My windows 2000 partition on my home computer has problems. I know the value of backups, I really, really do! But I got caught without a backup anyway! :-( I am in windows 98 now. My windows 2000 CD is an upgrade version and I am having problems trying to install a repair version. This may take a while!

Re:
Not really. It is asking for file which it says is missing or corrupted and will not come up at all. Thankfully I had windows 98 on the C: and I am using that now. Ironicallly, my upgrade CD of windows 2000 sees the 98 and the NT partition and will not let me install a copy of 2000, as it says I already have multiple os on the computer and this is not compatible with the upgrade software. I'd like to shoot someone at microsoft right about now!

Would a full copy of 2000 be of any use to you?

Re:
It might. My copy might work if I sys c: and remove the NT files from the root of c. I am sure glad I had 98 installed too!
