This is...interesting.

Windows 2000 will not read my D drive. All it wants to do is format it! Windows 98, however, knows that something is not quite right with the partition, but the data can be read and programs even run on it. All I can figure is that 2000 is more choosie about what it works with, whereas 98 uses a quick and dirty solution.

In any case, this allowed me to save most of my data from the partition and I have a clean install of 2000 on another partition. Now I can let 2000 format the drive and see if it is recoverable. *sigh*

Did it work? I have 98. I think I liked 95 more. My computer crashes a lot with 98.

I had to reformat the drive, but I was able tro save the data. 98 seems to work better for me than 95, but I like 2000 the best. I don't have any idea why the drive got out of whack, but it reformed just fine.
