give me the simple pleasures

  • the smell of newly cut grass - even if it does make me sneeze :-)
  • sunrises
  • sunsets
  • the close shave of a new shaver
  • coffee early in the morning
  • the taste of oatmeal early in the morning
  • the smell of fresh coffee at any time
  • Live Journal friends

Waking up;-)
To baby babbling...

All of those are indeed yummy!

I got to sit outside yesterday evening & smell the freshly mowed lawn.
I love listening to the locust hummin'...

Re: Waking up;-)
It's been a long time since we hear any babies around our house, but yeah, that was sure better than waking to babies crying! :-)

Locusts are ok, but they sure can be noisy when it's their year and they all get going at once. It almost scared me the first time I heard them! And they are ugly!

LOL With Gary!
Locusts'are loud when they hummmm!
I like it because they remind me of my childhood...*smiling*
Running from tree to tree trying to stop them all *from hummin' before the first trees worth started up again...LOL
Yeah! I know, but hey, we didn't have puters & video games back then.*laughing*

I think many of the kids nowadays miss out on a lot of the *simple pleasures*.

I try to make sure mine can appreciate a cool breeze on a hot Summer night..and all the little noises and lightning bugs that go with it:-)

Yeah, that's another one - catching lightning bugs on a warm Summer evening!

I love the smell of fresh cut grass, especially in early spring, after the grass has been covered in snow all winter. It is also really nice on a lazy summer evening when you are just sitting there watching the sunset.

I also love watching the waves lap up the beach as the sun is setting in the distance on a cool summer evening.

Pretty much everything about summer is good, except the occasionaly oppresive heat, but I'll take that any day to enjoy those simple pleasures.

I miss the ocean. I grew up in California on the coast and my wife, three kids and I lived in Hawaii for a couple of years.
