Good morning
The sun was just starting to tint the East with pink as I came into the building this morning. Sadly, my vacation is over. Now, I will wait to see if our contract is renewed for FY 2002. We will know by October 1st or we will be out of a job until they decide! No contract=no work.

I hope everyone has a good day today! This is the day that the Lord has made!

Re:
Thanks Peg!

Yes, it's especially important to remember on Monday morning! I'm thankful to be awake and kicking this morning, even if it's not real fun. :-)

Re:
Hello there! I am in Olathe. Do you work with the handicapped? The reason I ask, is that our youngest daughter has Cerebral Palsy and the name just sounds like it might be that sort of place. :-)

God bless you too!
RelentlessPursuerpursuer on September 10th, 2001 09:07 pm (UTC)
Yes, I work with people with mental retardation, developmental disabilities and disabilities. I asked from where in Kasa you are is because I work with a client that has Cerebral Palsy, and I know her family is Christian... her name is Misty... ? She's a great girl at any rate... I enjoy working with her, but I am moving into a position where I will no longer be working with wheel-chair bound clients...

Have a great day!
Garygdj on September 11th, 2001 04:43 am (UTC)
Re:
No, we don't know Misty! Out daughter is Abigail. She is 19 years old, but has developed to a bit less than one year in most areas. She is a wheel-chair user also and attendeds our local high school for a couple of more years. We have surely come to be thankful for people like yourself, who choose to work with the handicapped.

I hope your day goes well also!

Good morning Gary, well, by now it's good afternoon. It sure is great to go on vacation and like you I always hate to get back to work when they are over. One year I took two weeks back to back, you talking about someone who didn't want to go back to work....LOL

I hope your contract is renewed for 2002. Is this something that has to be done every year? WOW, I sure hope you don't have to go through that every year.
Garygdj on September 10th, 2001 03:13 pm (UTC)
Re:
Yes, every year! At least it has been for the 5 years we have been on it. It gets to be a drag, but the job is worth it.

Hello Audis,

I hope all is going better for you & yours.
I've been kinda lax in reading post this week due to phone service problems.
I don't have one. LOL

Hope to see you here soon.

Take care, Jo
Patriotpatriot on September 10th, 2001 05:28 pm (UTC)
Thanks Jo, we are doing better. Guess you could say had an issue with one of those disfunctional misfits.... LOL. Anyway, God is good, He is the one constant that we can count on in our daily lives.

<< phone service problems.
I don't have one. LOL >>

No phone would certainly constitute phone service problems.....LOL. Sure hope they get it all fixed really soon. I am seriously considering a cable modem.... again...LOL. Have just about decided to so that. Picked up the cable today to run from the puter to the drop wire coming into the house.

Howdy there!
Hi! Gary,

I haven't been on very much due to the lack of phone service. (there are 3 lines & just one working)
The Light Company knocked my phones off last Friday.
They said it would be this Friday before they could get them back on, however, when I got home from the store the phone guy was here.
He said that he had tried to fix it, but the light ppl. messed it up so bad, they are going to have to replace the line coming from the pole up to my service box:-)
In a way that's good, because the line has been there for 20+ years and does nothing for connecting to the internet...hahaha

Anyway, I'm on Lauren's puter and it's pretty slow, so I haven't used it much.

I hope all works out with your job. *crossing my fingers*;-)

I will soon be a walking advertisement for Live Journal,{Bought me a t-shirt} so I guess I'll be around for a while. LOL

Have a nice evening!!!!!!

-Jo

PS...
You hush up about all that cool weather....*smiling* hehe

Re: Howdy there!
Hi Jo!

I've been missing you!

Hopefully, the phone line will be better once they replace it!

I thought about getting a T-shirt, but I wasn't sure I wanted people I know to find my journal there, if you know what I mean. I really don't talk about much that would matter, but who knows when I might let something slip!

I think the contract will go through. I just hope it is without too much wait time (off work) in October!
man_vs_wild on September 11th, 2001 04:12 am (UTC)
Best of luck for the new contract. I know how you feel. I worked that way for 12 years until I fell into my present position.

Hope you have a wonderful week!
