Talk about glorious!
This morning was one of those times when I wished I had my camera with me! There was a large cloud bank in the East, but the clouds were just thin enough for the sun to make it through. At the same time, the clouds were thick enough that the Easteern sky was fairly dark. This served to emphasize the effect of the sunrise. At first, the sun onl;y shone shrough at one place as a patch of pink. As the sunrise progressed, the path became bigger and later there were many stripes of pink layered through out the cloud bank. It just kept getting better, and then it was gone all of a sudden. It's a good thing I was at work by that time. :-) I was pretty much entertained for my whole drive this morning!

I hope everyone has a great day today and a safe 4th of July tomorrow!

Isn't it strange how one date can have such different significance? When I think of July 4th I think of the Allied forces taking Paris at the climax of the Napoleonic wars.
Nothing against your celebrations though and I certainly wish everyone on the other side of the ocean a good day!
I do remember this time last year however when I was in Pakistan and there was a lot of anti-American feeling in that country at the time. The Americans at the hospital (and all over the country indeed) were fairly unsure of how safe it would be to go ahead with the usual celebrations at the US embassy in Islamabad. Apparently the security there was pretty amazingly tight but nothing went wrong - except that because most of the non-missionary (ie government, diplomats etc) staff had left the country because of this anti-US feeling the missionaries were practically the only people there, enjoying all the embassy could put on for them!

Yes, it is! And I think we sometimes forget how small the world is these days! When I told everyone to have a good 4th of July, I was only thinking of our Independance Day celebrations here in the US.

I am blessed to have a very international group of friends here in LiveJournal. :-)
