Re: Good Morning!
Good morning Jo! Well, happy birthday to Landon then! It surely sounds like he must be getting along ok at school if he hates to miss it! I don't know much aboutr SpongeBob or Squarepants, but I'm sure he will enjoy that!

Myself, I was always happy that my birthday came on a day when I was NOT in school. Being Sept 1st, that was almost always guarenteed, as we started school after Labor Day way back then! ;-)

I hope your day with your kids goes well! Enjoy the party! I hope it's not too much work for you!

Re: He's really came a long way since his last birthday though.:-)
I'm not sure if you've mentioned this -- is he in a special class or a regular class?

It sounds like Abby's teachers always welcomed the birthday cake thing. I think it gave them a break and filled up some class time that they did not have to cover! :-) But then, Abby has always been in special classes and they watch movies and don't really have a lesson plan that needs following from what I gather.

Something they do here is assign a social worker to us. We have had the same one since Abby started school. At first, I thought it was going to be someone to be nosy about how we do things, but she has turned out to be a real advocate for us in our dealings with the school.

I agree, you really shouldn't try and do it all yourself. Get help whenever it is available. It really does help to know that you are not the only one who is looking out for Landon's best!
