Paperless Society?
Does anyone remember back in the earlier days of computing where someone envisioned a "paperless society"?

Well, I'm hear to tell you, we ain't there yet! I've just shredded a bunch of my mother's old papers and checks.

Personally, I'd bet that the computer has increased our volume of paper. It's so easy to document on the computer, but everyone wants their own copy and that takes paper!
Current Mood: less paper

I also know there are some medical practices that are converting to image copied of all documents. I thnk the office where my wife works is doing that, but it will be a long time, if ever, before we are completely converted. As you say, it's hard to trust your important things to computer media.

I remember those days. For me it is working toward being less paperful, I don't know that I will ever be paperless though.

How is your mother doing? I haven't heard you mention her lately and it just so happens that she crossed my mind this afternoon.

Thanks for asking Audis. She is doing well and seems to be adjusting well to the assisted living. Her short term memory continues to degrade and that is frustrating to us and her, but after this last spell of depressing, she has been in very good sorts!

now I am the queen of shredders....do we have a king now??? *giggle*
is time consuming and a pain in the arse isn't it.

Well, maybe a prince. I stopped shredding before the job was done. Yes, it is a pain.

ok...Prince it is. I could not believe how much shredding it took. I have a whole box needs doing but now I do anything new automatically. Doesn't get built up.

Where I get into trouble is thinking that this newest piece of paper may be needed in the future. This leads to stacks of paper that I have to look through later and shred. I'm a packrat at heart. I guess I come by this honestly, having seen all that my mother has saved over the years. I do the same thing with computer parts, although some of them do,,/s> come in handy at times. :-)

Hello! That's not a problem. I was following his phone entries and praying for him!
