Palin for VP!
I've just been watching a bit of Fox News and learning a bit more about Sarah Palin. I take back a comment I made earlier that her lack of experience may hurt the ticket.

It sounds like she has quite a bit more experience than Obama. And the more I hear, the more I like the the McCain-Palin combination. Palin strongly offsets McCain's liberal tendencies in more than one area. She is Pro-Life, and comes down on the right side of the energy debate.

I hope all my US friends are ready to enjoy a Labor day holiday. I know I sure am. It's time for our round of birthday celebrations. Yesterday was Abigail's birthday. Tomorrow is Jessica's and Mine is Monday.

Well, I am dead center where the hurrican is supposed to go, sounds like a celebration of some sort...LOL...

I agree with you, McCain and Palin really compliment each other, it is what I believe to be a winning combination :)

Yes, it sounds like all the folks on the coast will be coming up your way! I pray our Lord would keep you all safe!

With the aim of this hurricane it's possible that we may have to evacuate as well, even with as far north as we already are. It looks tough right now. We can't buy gas or supplies even, everyone is out.

Happy Birthdays!

I am more concerned about the election than I should be, maybe. I think I feel like we can't have discussion anymore. I used to think we all had some sort of common base and some differences on the details. Now I think we are so divided as a country and I don't get it.

For example, I'm sorry, but I honestly don't think there is any question about abortion - it's wrong. I don't understand how anyone can see it any other way. I hate the idea of unsafe back room abortions, and I hate that some poor girl has to suffer the consequence of a rape or bad decision, but that doesn't make abortion okay. I'm so glad MLK's niece spoke up as she did.

I could go on, but I shouldn't in your space. I only say what I have because I think of you as sympathetic to what I believe even though I my witness is much worse than yours. You remain positive and I remain negative - I have to get over that. I just feel so frustrated that there really isn't a good choice in this election.

God was very clear when he said "Though shalt not kill." I just got over explaining why Christian conservatives are pro-life and pro-death penalty. I gave them the reasons set forth in the Bible. Their response. Well it's the Bible, a book that is full of contradictions. *sigh* All I did was answer their question and they have to insult the word of God.

Thanks Pigue!

I agree, there is no question about abortion being wrong. I would feel better if we had the "perfect" candidate for president, but I think we must realize that the President is just one man/woman and our government system is setup with checks and balances, so that the president is hopefully balanced by the others in office around him/her.

Ultimately, it all comes down to a heart change at the personal level. And God is in control. We must not forget that!

Happy Bday to you!
Gary, Glad to hear you are enjoying the holiday weekend/Bday's. I mentioned to someone the other day "Bday's after 50 just don't have the luster they used to" & tried to stay in my pj's all day... which of course did not work out. Tomorrow will be a good day for you. I am flipping pancakes (fundraiser) for the local Fire Dept. at a nearby lake.

I am a devout Democrat, & it will not end our friendship that you are who you are.....& I applaud Palin. I watched her acceptance speech & was VERY impressed. Even teared up a couple of times (but don't you tell anybody)! I am dragging my 'Hilary' heels in complete acceptance of Obama, but HIS wife Michelle- is another great speaker. We have a BIG change coming & I pray it will re-connect the US.

FOX network is in BIG trouble in Nebraska!! Pay-Per-View of the Cornhuskers Game yesterday didn't work well. Everybody today is mad & asking for refunds/credits. It was a great game & I'll bet it'll be like getting blood out of a turnip- to get a refund/credit from the big Fox people. BUT~~~ GO BIG RED is back!!!!! :)

Have a great Bday, Gary!
Pink {{hugs}}}

Re: Happy Bday to you!
Thanks Mary Jo! Yes, it surely sounds like Sarah Palin knows about making changes and going against the establishment. We could sure use some of that in our government, no matter what party brings it!

Mmmm, pancake breakfast, sounds good!

Yes, it does seem so! I'm always glad for new friends! I will add you as soon as I send this and would be honored if you would do the same.

I have not been writing too often here, but that may pick back up soon.

Blessings!
