"I expect to pass through this world but once. Any good thing, therefore, that I can do or any kindness I can show to any fellow human being let me do it now. Let me not defer nor neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again."
Stephen Grellet, 1773-1855 French-born Quaker Minister
I always enjoy finding new friends through LJ.
I am a Christian and I take my beliefs very seriously. I do not believe in pushing my beliefs on anyone, but I am always open to talk about my faith when asked!
I am a Vietnam era veteran of the US Army. I am also conservative in my politics, but try to be open and fair about other's leanings. You won't see too many entries involving politics here, but I sure am getting tired of the name-calling left!
I am married with three children. Our oldest two, one son and one daughter are grown and out of the house. Our youngest daughter has cerebral palsy with multiple handicaps, she lives in a group home and we see her through the week and on weekends.
My journal is often "friends only". If you desire to be added to my list, please reply to a public entry and I'll see what I can do!
I am not politically correct!
I am just old fashioned enough to believe that a man should open doors for ladies.
I do believe that there are some crimes which deserve the death penalty.
I am more likely to come down on the side of a victim's rights, rather than a criminal's rights.
Taxes are a necessary evil and not to be over done.
Animals are put on this earth for man and not the other way around.
I do not hunt, but have no trouble with those who do.
Part of our job as caretakers for the world may require that some animals be killed, either to control their population or to protect the human population.
While I do not own a gun, I believe in an individual's right to own one.
